The name coming from the same word billabong, a stagnant body of water near a waterway. The Billabong company sells surfwear and accessories under the Palmers Surf, Honolua Surf, Nixon, Xcel Wetsuits, Von Zipper, Kustom (footwear), and Tigerlily labels, and also Element skate clothing and hardware, and Sector 9 long skateboards. Billabong is now headquartered at Burleigh Heads, Queensland. It is public company traded on the Australian Securities Exchange (as Billabong International, ASX: BBG).
