Hang Ten was started by Doug Boyd in 1962, selling first mass produced and marketed boardshort. It is considered "The Original Surf Brand". Many considered Hang Ten's surfwear to be over-processed and too mass-marketed. It is still found in large department stores like Kohl's in the US, and has a strong following in Asia.
