Volcom clothing is a lifestyle brand based specialising in the three activity-sports of surfing, skating and snowboard. The brand is focused on the youth market and has a strong association with music. Volcom was started in 1991 in Costa Mesa, California, by Richard "Wooly" Woolcott and Tucker "T-Dawg" Hall, establishing the Volcom brand in April 2005 before listing on the NASDAQ. The Volcom "stone" logo signifies its tough brand image and stands for "Youth Against Establishment", championing the youth market with its "Let the Kids Ride Free" campaign. Volcom has its own record label called Volcom Entertainment, and in 2008 they bought sunglasses brand Electric Visual.
